Ken Wilber
The Marriage of Sense and Soul : Integrating
Science and Religion
The Marriage of Sense and Soul, a cognizant address of how to mend the rift
between science and religion, is further
proof that Ken Wilber is one of the most knowledgeable and clear-thinking individuals
writing today. Like an experienced scout, Wilber has blazed a careful trail through the
dense history surrounding religion and science, from the basic tenets of all religion and
the foundations of science to the fundamental nature of our postmodern society: the
differentiation of art, morals, and science. It is this capacity to differentiate that
pits science and religion against one another, yet it ironically proves to be the door to
a reconciliation between the camps. Wilber proposes that, without requiring drastic
modification of the way either party perceives itself, science and religion can coexist
within a single framework, each playing a different role, yet married in our quest to
understand the universe. In the process, Wilber examines the work of many of the pivotal
scientific discoveries since the Enlightenment, as well as some of the most influential
thinkers of all time. Enough is here to perplex a tenured historian, yet his course is so
clearly charted that the reader comes away from The Marriage of Sense and Soul not
with confusion, but a feeling of completing a momentous and insightful journey.

One Taste :
The Journals of Ken Wilber, 1997
Amazon.com
Okay, Ken Wilber fans, you've waited long enough. The intensely private potentate of
the integral path has broken his silence and published a year's worth of journal notes.
Pull up a chair. You've entered the living room of one of the most intriguing spiritual
theorists on the planet. He'll tell you a little about his work schedule, friendships with
publishers, artists, and intellectuals, and you'll talk late into the night about bringing
together the best parts of all the world's wisdom traditions. Hold on tight, though,
because the conversational pace can be dizzying, bouncing from Nagarjuna to Plotinus,
Derrida to Nagel, feminism to Zen, psychotherapy to vipassana. And this isn't just
superficial soul-babble. Give it a while to sink in. Take a sip of wine. Move on to more
expansive talk of higher states of being. Wilber will describe his own meditative
experiences and how they relate to his revision of the Great Chain of Being. As daylight
breaks, you'll gaze into the early twilight, wondering how you failed to notice all those
hidden dimensions within and beyond an otherwise two-dimensional world. --Brian Bruya
Grace
and Grit
The
compelling story of the five-year journey of Ken Wilber (author of The
Spectrum of Consciousness and Up from Eden) and his wife Treya through
marriage, illness, and, finally, Treya's death. Ken's brilliant and
wide-ranging commentary is combined with Treya's journals to create an
inspiring portrait of healing, suffering, wholeness and harmony.
The Eye of Spirit : An
Integral Vision for a World Gone Slightly Mad
What would a truly integral culture
look like, a culture that included body, mind, soul, and spirit? In this new and
groundbreaking book, Ken Wilber uses his widely acknowledged "spectrum of consciousness" model to
completely rewrite our approach to such important fields as psychology, spirituality,
anthropology, cultural studies, art and literary theory, ecology, feminism, and planetary
transformation. What would each of those fields look like if we wholeheartedly accepted
the existence of not just body and mind but also soul and spirit? Wilber weaves these
various fragments together into a coherent and compelling vision for the modern and
postmodern world.
A Brief History
of Everything
This account of men and women's place in a universe of sex and
gender, self and society, spirit and soul is written in question-and-answer format, making
it both readable and accessible. Wilber offers a series of original views on many topics
of current controversy, including the gender wars, multiculturalism, modern liberation
movements, and the conflict between various approaches to spirituality.
The Essential
Ken Wilber: An Introductory Reader
This introductory sampler of Ken
Wilber's thought, wisdom, and wit--excerpted from his most popular books--ranges over a
variety of topics, including meditation, mystical experience, the new age, science, and
spirituality.
Eye to Eye :
The Quest for the New Paradigm
This book takes the first step toward
developing a comprehensive
model of consciousness and reality encompassing science, psychology, philosophy, and
religion. In it, Wilber examines three realms of knowledge: the empirical realm of the
senses, the rational realm of the mind, and the contemplative realm of the spirit.
Sex, Ecology, Spirituality : The Spirit of
Evolution
One of the great thinkers of our time
brings together sex and gender issues, ecological wisdom, and spirituality into a coherent
vision for our times. In a tour de force of scholarship and vision, Ken Wilbur traces the
course of evolution from matter to life to mind, answering the critical question: Can
spiritual concerns be integrated with the modern world?
Up from Eden : A
Transpersonal View of Human Evolution
A reader , June 16, 1996
Excellent source for transpersonal view of mankind.
This is an excellent text to give one an overview of the development and evolution of
humanity from the transpersonal point of view. Wilber draws heavily on existentialist
Becker as well as the master of myth, J. Campbell. He presents his thesis in a
comprehensive and far reaching flavor, bringing some sense into the evolution of the
mystical as well as the concrete. I highly recommend this text for anyone interested in
placing life in an inclusive theory.
